Under the direction of the VP Donor Recruitment & Marketing, develops outreach tactics, events, promotions and grassroots programs and oversees their implementation. Partners with donor call center, mobile recruitment, blood operations and inventory teams to achieve collection goals. Provides effective leadership to the Donor Marketing Program Managers and the Fulfillment staff to ensure optimal organizational structure, selection and hiring decisions, coaching and feedback, performance management; in service to a high performing Donor Marketing team.


Marketing Operations
• Leads projects and direct reports to ensure donor engagement programs meet established goals and provide the required return on investment
• Employs a metric-driven approach to marketing, utilizing results-based analytical decision-making methodology to develop and manage marketing campaigns and tactics and assess channel effectiveness
• Energizes the donor marketing team to draft a plan informed by insights to consistently deliver success
• Develops and regularly monitors Key Performance Indicators, including new donor acquisition, first-time donors, growth of active donors, seasonal and segment-specific recruitment campaigns
• Develops and maintains symbiotic relationship with Donor Recruitment, Blood Operations and Inventory teams through regular huddles and shared project planning initiatives.
• Collaborates with Corporate Marketing, Strategy and Donor Recruitment to identify, plan, implement and measure innovative, programs to engage donors and ultimately achieve collections goal.
• Negotiates with vendors for services, including promotional items, catering and rentals
• Serves as subject matter expert on the online donor portal –
• Contributes to strategic planning for the organization

Financial Management
• Manages relationships with vendors and promotional partners to deliver promotions that meet blood component goals within budget and on-time
• Builds and manages the department’s annual expense budget

Customer Service
• Supports and demonstrates customer service commitment to internal and external customers guided by Versiti’s vision, mission and values

Human Resource Management
• Accountable for human resource management for direct reports to include hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluation, discipline and termination, when applicable, in collaboration with Human Resources and in compliance with administrative policy

General Duties
• Assists in development and achievement of departmental goals and objectives in support of the vision and mission of Versiti.
• Coordinate and implement special projects as assigned within specified time frames
• Maintains required records, reports, and files as pertains to areas of responsibility
• Follows universal precautions and protective measures required by Versiti and outside regulatory agencies. (Incumbent may be exposed to blood or body fluids or be in areas which contain these items)
• Complies with all Versiti safety policies and procedures

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in marketing field and three (3) years of management experience

Skills and Knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to partner with the sales team to achieve targets.
• Ability to identify and communicate goals and deliver written action plans, report on outcomes and identify corrective measures
• Working knowledge of current, effective marketing techniques that influence consumer behavior for commercial and cause organizations
• Strong customer service skills: the ability to effectively listen, apply servant leadership and communicate positively with sponsors, donors, and peers.
• Budget and resource planning
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills, verbal and written communications skills
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required

Tools and Technology
• Working knowledge of current marketing tools, including but not limited to: Adobe Creative suite, CRM, email broadcast tools, Microsoft Office, social media management and sites
• Personal Computer (desk top, lap top, tablet), office equipment (computer, printer, fax, copy machine)
• Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
